A touch of self-righteousness

Job 13:15        New English Translation

15 Even if he slays me, I will hope in him;

I will surely defend my ways to his face.

A touch of self-righteousness

When you seek the joy of the Lord, you only take a part in it

The purpose He has for you and all that makes Him happy

Desire the entire Will of God and that with all of your heart

So that you won’t rebel again and suffer, as God seems "napping"

God never sleeps you know and neither does His Spirit

So where does my spirit reside when I am deep asleep?

This we will address later for it is another matter

And if I simply carry on you probably start to weep

To suffer for God and then be counted worthy to do so

That is a blessing so great that it overshadows God’s consolation

But when consolation itself becomes more important than the Giver

God will withdraw the next time from the Christian’s frustration

Then bitterness may spring up if the Lord does not console

And depression may set in and feelings feel parched and burned up

We pass through the valley of the shadow of death for we feel forsaken

The one that I am and I know, not the one deep within that is shaken

What is living for Christ?

Is it not laboring for Him constantly or just loving Him for Who He is?

To live for His Will and His Happiness for His interest is dear to us

Now the slightest provision for self-comfort just to follow His mind

With disregard for self-glory because I love Him so very much
