TOWN CRIER

The heart beats, but

I can’t dance anymore,

Its music is bitter within

Like a sting on the foot.

Knees freezing down,

Can’t make single step,

I, the desperate soldier,

Putting arms aside, sole

Pick rest on the elbow.

It is marking a new phase

Once everything being lost,

Fighting self battle, winner

Win a stack of regrets.

 Heightening head more,

Tears oblige it to the earth,

Its shame bulky to bear, too

Light to keep them flowing.

My voice call is deafening

Akin to that of the town crier,

Awaking those expiring on beds,

That can make that dance again.
