Toxic Relationship
She’s my best friend and my worst enemy,
the sweetest bitch you could ever meet.
I see her often, sometimes twice a day.
She constantly invites herself in, and the days she doesn’t show up are usually a nice break.
That gasp for air when you’ve been underwater for too long.
We’ve gone weeks apart,
though she lingers, like aromas in a kitchen after a hot meal.
But when I feel emotions start creeping in…
cold as ice, finding refuge in my stomach to thaw out, and clawing their way up my throat…
She’s at the door laughing.
See the thing about my bulimia is that she’s my best friend and my worst enemy.
Sometimes she doesn’t laugh.
Sometimes she’s the only one I can run to for comfort.
And it's so unfortunate.
Because she’s the biggest bitch you could ever meet.
