Toxic Temptations

I write this to you,

my betraying other half.

deep down to my core

my roots, my insides

I am rotting.

decaying in my misery.

my thoughts devouring me whole,

how could I stay?

that intimate moment you had with her,

exposing your private temple

that only I dare to go,

dropping your guard

letting your temptations consume you.

I am defeated and weak.

the thought of you giving yourself to another soul other than mine

makes me absolutely numb

it shatters me.

you stared right through me with no words.

how could you hurt me?

my tears fell down my cheeks like warm milk,

the feeling of a large dagger gored my back,

felt it in my bones yet there was nothing there.

I gave you everything in me, all of me.

let you in and welcomed you home.

together we created a safe place and you destroyed it with a blunder.

one careless mistake.

and that’s all it takes
