Tracing

Following the lines of your body,
From fingertip to toe,
And back again.
I see who you really are

I see the future
Told in the lines of your palm.
I see happiness
Hidden in the creases beside your lips.
I see insecurity
Clinging to your lip between your teeth.
I see nervousness
In the bouncing on your knee.
I see love
In your pulse creeping up your neck.
I see sadness
Swirling behind your eyes.
I see hatred
Behind each self inflicted scar on your body.

I see all these creases, and crinkles, and scars, and movements;
All coalescing into the human before me.
And I want you to know,
I find you beautiful.

Mesmerizing.
Stupefying.
An addiction,
My addiction.

I will never tire,
Of seeing these habits and quirks
That make you so endearing.
Following the lines of your body,
I find every emotion.

I find
Wonder,
Curiosity,
Spontaneity,
Happiness,
Sadness,
Grief,
Fear,
Amusement,
And love.

Following the lines,
I can see what makes you, you.
I see the beauty you can't.
The utter amazingness of your existence.

So never doubt when I say
'you're beautiful'
Because you don't really see you.
