Tragedy and Vanity

Her parents died, gunshots rang

In the snowy McDonalds parking lot

Two hearts, death's pang

I'd been booked for a photo shoot

Too busy to be bothered, cameras await

My appearance debut

Months later, she'd be without a home

And life cruelly served me humility

Me ashamed, she alone

Together we found hope, family

Our bond rises above

Tragedy and Vanity
