TRAIL OF A BROKEN DREAM

Trail of Broken Dreams I looked around I had been here before Early morning hours Wintery white veil. Sparkling frost Everything faded pale Levitating fog, just above the ground. Winding cedar path, curved ahead and around. Nothing but trees as far as I could see. I stood there gazing remembering everything. A swift chill, flowed right through me. I turned to avoid its suprise I seen him standing before me. I seen his passionate eyes Reunited with a part of myself I had longed for for sometime We walked holding hands Leaving the chill behind embracing beauty on the land. Saturating the feeling Appreciating all we can The glowing grey sky mirrored the pond near by. Its essence radiated the surface Ripples from the dragonfly We moved slowly, expressing without words. Staring frequently into each other's eyes. Everything felt... all needed to be said, No spoken words Feelings so in depth I felt us both express love and much regret. Mistakes that can take, you heart forever breaks. He and I reliving, no chance of another day Looking past the eyes. with the reality kept in mind. Soon the time would come, that we would say goodbye. My heart ripped at the seam. For this was only a dream. I was sorrow stricken, grateful all in one. We new the things we missed. Thing's we could have done. Both engulfed in a romance, hindered by addiction. Careless and ungrateful, pain and exchanged infliction. Each day suppressed Instead of making the best Blinded by our actions Confusing satisfactions Catastrophic ending Health was decending In a moment he was gone. Never to return, and everything is wrong. Together he and I, the trail and grayish sky. In a dream, just a dream. I cherish every time.
