Trails of Light

For every shooting star that I’ve traded dreams with, they’ve always delivered and made a fact from myth. So I wonder why it hurts if my hearts been in the dirt one too many times for this rhyme to be any different. Because I lack the necessary emotions, my body is lava without the molten, chilled over two decades— Frozen. Sometimes I look into the mirror and realize that I don’t even know him, or who he thought he was before witnessing the diminishing effects of drugs and propaganda. How we poison our own kind in these alley ways that ooze the scent of urine and rotted souls, trash laden with oxygen unfit for swine, but what They can’t remove is the imagination of Human Kind and the lives we have lived while asleep and I have come to realize that anyone can pass mathematics, but it takes a true genies to dream! Any bowzo can manage risk, but how many have had the courage in their hearts to close their eyes and follow the Trails of Light found only on the back of their eyelids, protecting their purity from the propaganda with each stanza of their life they’ve chosen to write? You see, WE have the Lion of a heart to walk these trails that may dim and sometimes burn a fuse because the passion in our dreams is the igniter fluid to the spark within our souls that continues to click like an old and unused lighter. May the Universe forbid that one day we will all come together, torches lit, ready to fight the tyranny of Satan’s kids! THAT will be the day we no longer offer change to the homeless because there will be none left upon changing ourselves. THAT is the day when we’ll find our hiking boots and backpacks that have bathed in self-regret and inaction for years. When we’ll find the old notebooks that begged and called to be filled with the stanzas of the pictures, paintings, and poems that we’ve seen only behind our eyelids somewhere along the Trails of Light within our dreams. Only then will the alley ways connecting Heart and mind begin to clear and allow love to breathe!
