Train of Thoughts

I'm waiting for them to come

they only come when they know I’m alone

late in the night, every night;

some people call them thoughts, I call them the repressions

they like to come and repress all happy feelings and thoughts

only bringing with them the pain and worst memories

there is no way to fight them

only to endure the pain they bring

until they feel they have caused enough damage and devastation

100% alone with my thoughts and feelings

becoming more demeaning and cruel towards myself and others.

kids say they are most afraid of the monsters in the darkest corners of their rooms;

but i'm most afraid of the monsters within the darkest corners of my mind.
