Train Tracks

Location

home
United States

What is a train if not constant and steady

Unlike my mind.

One would assume a train of thought to pursue a constant and logical track

Not fall back

On itself

Like an adolescent dog chasing its tail

I fail

To recall even where it begun, its genesis camouflaged by loop upon loop

Whorl upon whorl

Fingerprints

Different per finger

Definining the person in tattoos of caverns and cliffs

A temporary reminder of an even more temporary feeling:

Love, a cross-hatched

Plead to the past

At last

Lines

Flying in random patterns over the skin

Over the earth

Over this page

Over my eyes

Through my mind

Where do they begin?

Not here.

Yesterday?

See here, I've lost track

Of my train

Or

Have I mislaid

My track?
