Trains Go Fast
Trains go fast
Fast like my heartbeat
Beating in time with the bullets
Bullets that rip through a victim
Victims of crimes protecting a brother
Brothers who were trying to look out for each other
Other people turning cheeks, but it bothers me
Me, myself, and I thinking I can spit poetry
Poetry; what they think when they spill our blood on the streets
Streets where my generation was raised to act like Beasts
Beasts; they accuse as they beat us and call us names
Name one person who can’t be found to blame
Blame the young people, it’s on their shoulders now
Now I wish I could go back and stop this, but how
How could we let our world fall to this
This chaos we call ‘home’ doesn’t have the same bliss
Blissfully reaching to play my brother’s tune
Tune my ears to listen so I can reach out to you
You, my brother, my sister, my friend
Friends who have been with me ‘til the very end
End the fear of love and eradicate this sin
Sin within; it’s all we’ve come to know
Knowing the world is messed-up, we still don’t let our feelings show
Show me the tears you shed for a dead brother
Brother, I’m sorry we weren’t here for one another
Another one bites the dust and I sink my head in shame
Shameful in admittance that the world don’t feel the same
Same brother, same Glock as I’m crouching in the corner
Corner me in my feelings; I can’t take this too much longer
Longer the world is consumed by greed
Greed is what we feed her but we don’t realize she’s in need
Need I say much more to let you know what’s wrong
Wrong is what we’re doing but we still go on and on
On this crazy ride we go; going faster, not taking it slow
Slow down, enjoying life while you have the chance
Chances of this getting better are less than a second glance
Glance at the trees as they zip by and it starts to rain
Rain that I can’t feel from my seat on this train
Trains go fast
