That Traitor

The breeze washed over him with no relief,

Her figure stood there in the shimmering heat.

Abandoned by his wife for the crimes,

That she asked him to co-sign.

The pain from the love of his life,

Rained down without a cloud in sight.

Afflicted with love he carried on,

In solitude he marched under the desert sun.

The regret of leaving her behind,

Overshadowed by her deceitful lines.

Right or wrong he could not forget the past.
