Tranquil Smile

“Young sweet baby girl let me see your smile" “Times are hard" they say The sweet baby girl in fear but still has that tranquil smile “Mommy you ok, I don't want you to get hurt” “I'm ok let me see that smile baby girl” she mumble with her vodka breath She smile for her mother She knows if ahe doesn't she'll only worry her mother She knows her mother worriness only leads her to her abuser Everyday she has her tranquil smile to lead her mother offspring They say “she has a smile to make the world stop and look” But behind that smile is hurt, pain, fear Her tranquil smile is her mothers only protector from her abuser But her tranquil smile is her abuser Her tranquil smile makes her not show her pain That pain is tearing her apart behind that tranquil smile
