Transformation

I never thought it’d be this way

But I’m no fortune teller

I was so deep into a life of drugs

I was the buyer and the seller.

I never thought it’d be this way

Yet others weren’t surprised

I was a troubled child at birth

Is that the truth or a load of lies.

I never thought it’d be this way

I hate who I’ve become

So why don’t I throw it all away

Just quit and say I’m done.

I never thought I’d be this way

This isn’t what I planned

I don’t want to be a boy any more

I want to be a man.

I’m glad that it could be this way

Now I can finally see

That all the things I’ve worked for

Are here because of me.

I hope that it can be better than this

Something I never thought I’d say

Cause now I do not hate my life

And can see more than just today.
