The transformation

There I lay on a pillow, no, a sponge, full of tears limp and motionless my body shivering feeling the cold creep from the inside of my soul to the outside flesh. I distantly heard tear-filled voices but my body wouldn't allow me to care if I moved my soul would break into icy pieces I wept the cold, unforgiving ground beneath me the bodies below the burning sky above the souls above the mourners heads. On my knees choking on salty tears moisture surrounding my swollen eyes, gasping for a breath of air. I could smell the unearthed dirt, staring blankly at the unmarked grave glaring at me I heard the mocking laughter's of the world, whispers carried in the wind from the unfamiliar faces confining me, their eyes darting back and forth searching for something more pleasant to look at than me. It was here through tear filled eyes I begged for a bargain my heart torn into shreds And on my knees I screamed then shouted in my head once my voice became silent, anger rolling off my skin in heat waves And, there on my knees again the stitches of my heart tugging violently. Sobbing again with no more whispers among the wind. No unidentified grave. The bodies below resting The souls above at peace. I still cried, I still cry, but with less sorrow and pain.
