Transformation

I was ignorant and in my head

I wasn’t worried, I didn’t care

I was just living out my childhood

Just as one should

Suddenly what was happening seemed rare

Surgeries and a hospital bed

It wasn’t at all fair

I wasn’t eating, I wished I could

I just laid there and pulled up my hood

I felt nothing, I was completely bare

My body no longer felt dead

But I was losing my hair

I wanted so badly to be understood

I was out and I was home so I stood

My body wasn’t healed though, there was still a tear

You need the help yourself, she said

The voices inside my head were a pair

Forcing me to get up and feel good

I was more, I was strong oak wood

Near death made me realize the importance to share

My life should be my own but not without my swan

I was living closed off, but now that me is gone
