Transformed

Went in thinking that this was it; thinking that I had finally made it

Came out knowing that this was just the beginning; knowing that the future lies ahead

Went in thinking that I could stay quiet and timid; thinking that I could still use friends as microphones

Came out knowing that I had to be a voice for the voiceless and stand up for those who couldn’t; knowing that only I could amplify that voice

Went in thinking that I had it all; thinking that I knew it all and this was my moment to shine

Came out knowing that I am dependent on God and His ways; knowing that there’s still more to learn and gain from backstage

Went in thinking that I should just focus on me; thinking that dealing with people was just so extra

Came out knowing that I have gifts that I need to bless others with; knowing that I am my brother’s keeper

Went in thinking that I was too young to do what I wanted to; thinking that it was gonna take a long time before I got to where I wanted to be

Came out knowing that age is but a number; knowing that experiences are what mold and shape us into maturity

Went in thinking that it would take forever; thinking that I still had forever

Came out knowing that time flew by; knowing that I should have wished for time to go slower

College. Went in thinking that I was just a kid. Came out knowing that I glowed up; knowing that I grew up.
