You laugh, and your dignity slips away.

You drunken clown.

Your serious sobriety, an absurdity.

Your manliness, a memory.

Fool, with fool's notion.

Castrated according to prophesy.

You sit, half man, trying to knit a woman's memories.

A drunken clown.

Painted face, whose eyes stare back from the mirror?

Is there a tear left for what was?

What does God think?  Or do you care?

A clown's memories.

Bitter psychosis, your future, after the din.

Lonliness, your companion

and only irretrievable memory, yours to hate.

Play on drunken clown.  Play on.
