Transient Love

fate gets the final word

on our still born love

cry as we may

she does not give in

to our humanly whims

you will always be my love

but i'll call you a different name

friend

friend encompasses

a universe full of meanings

all of which can be applied

so love, friend

i bid you a final farewell

your presence

has brought me joy

your transcience

has brought me wisdom

and your friendship

will be my lucky charm

that i take with me where i go

and when you need

a friendly reminder of happiness

just look at the charm i left for you stowed
