Transition

first love, first heartbreak

your world crumbles, all is at stake

life once a routine

the one you depend on, no longer seen

the meaning of life, wholly unkown

you can't help but think how you two have grown

together as one, but now youre alone

you've lost yourself, feel like a child

head stirring, emotions run wild

where do you start, where to begin

you dread on the times you committed to sin

priorities gone, you can't help but cry

you pout and sit in the corner and sigh

yearning for answers, you look to the sky

lying in the grass, you gaze at the clouds

the voices you hear fade from the crowds

the air goes still, frozen in time

bells you once heard no longer chime

everything seems to slip from your mind

nature seems a bittersweet kind

a sensation appears that you had struggled to find

pick up your chin, look all around

there is so much more in life to be found

take what's been given, hold it close to your chest

learn and forgive because life is a test

now independent, you grasped how to grow

carry your pride and put on a show

be the woman you want others to know
