Transitioning

I was a sunflower.

Easily mistaken

Easily forgotten

Easily unappreciated

Day by day

wishing to be beautiful

but unaware

of its most powerful aspect:

its strength.

I am an orchid.

Easily swayed

Easily removed

Easily destroyed

Day by day

wishing to be stronger,

but unaware

of its most powerful aspect:

its beauty.

I was a sunflower,

And now I’m an orchid.
