The Translucent Beauty of the Never Forgotten Sparkle
The stars sparkle
Under the moonlight
It twirls and winks
It whispers its secret
With the breeze
It nudges my ears, a giggle escapes past my lips
It's time for a smile to grace my lips
As my eyes sparkle
I shiver under the cool breeze
The fireworks lighten the sky under the moonlight
Fizzing, buzzing, whizzing the secrets
That reach my ears. My bliss winks
Back at me. My fingers held
In the hand of my mom
With every step I take.
Guiding me to what the big world will hold.
She stayed one step behind me
Its sunshine and rainbows
Until I grew older
The tears in my eyes wink
At my reflection. My secret
Unravels under the fireworks that sparkle.
Under the moonlight
I tighten my left hand around the camera as the breeze
Whizzes by. The tugging of my dress under the breeze
Brings my attention to my right hand
Empty, grasping into the wind that dances around me
Almost mocking me
I am left all alone
No one to share my smile with
No one who can whisper their secret
Of happiness under the breeze.
No one to hold my hand
The stars sparkle
With the fireworks and wink
At me. The stars speak poetry on their lips
Under the moonlight
With camera in hand under the moonlight
I capture the stars and their secret.
The breeze
Graces my hand. My camera winks
At the stars under the fireworks’ sparkle
Only for the moment on my lips, the feel of a breeze
On my skin, I smile at the memory of my mom and I
Under the moonlight
That winks back at the never forgotten sparkle.
