The Trap of Falling

You take it all, my love is simply yours to take

you frightened me, stripping me bare

heed not, for I am not freed from this heartbreak

"But I love you, it's true" you swear.

That night you told me, we'd make the great escape

you had me falling, falling into the trap

on my heart you see, it was more than a scrape

but I guess that's what I get, for being such a sap.

Like a thief in the night, what a fright

I met someone new, and I was the apple to his eye

under his wing, he became my knight

he loves me you see, and he's got me on this high.

You don't like who I've become,

but unlike you, I'm not scum.
