Trapped
A melancholy cloak of clouds
Suffocate my mind
Glimpses of light tease me
Just to be overtaken by dark thoughts
You throw me a lifeline
But no matter how hard I try
I can't escape this hole
My feet are stuck in thick mud
My hands too sweaty to hold on
And I keep falling deeper
Inside my own self
Trapped under layers of concrete
I poured myself
Locked away in this steel cage
And I lost the key
Unable to escape myself
With no where to run
Except deeper within the shadows
I dream of wings
And flight
