Trapped

They tried to medicate her life Said that she would be alright Handed her a bottle of pills All ready with ten refills "Don't worry, you'll be okay" Is the only thing that they could say She takes the pills but then she finds In her own body, she is confined She realizes she can no longer dream And when she's alone, she still wants to scream All they do is make her feel numb She's terrified of what she'll become They make her sick but still she tries Because being sick is better than wanting to die They put a smile on her face, but she knows it's all fake How much more could she possibly take? She lays down, lays very still And wonders, " will I ever be happy without these pills?"
