Trapped

I’m trapped living in a world where wars are running rapid bombs exploding snaring the people running past in their web of destruction. Hoping to take it’s victims last breath. Trapped watching little children die before my eyes not even understanding the meaning of life they die in their homes tucked away in their beds thinking their safe till a little silver object comes and carries them away. One by one their buried, parents crying and yelling hysterically wondering why God why their baby had to die, all because of a thing called gangs. See….I’m trapped in a world where women are objectified, and forced to abide Medias lies that must look like a stick to get ahead in life. Not knowing where their future lies they still try to abide Media’s lies till one day their gone….Taken away by a little thing called bulimia or stolen by its sister anorexia. See I’m trapped watching young boys turn to thugs because they didn't get the love or hugs from the parents that were strung out on drugs. Instead of being held tight at night it was the pipe that felt the touch and the warmth. Growing up turning into thugs they get into the street life till one day its night night and their the headline on channel nine. Another black boy shot down in a gang fight,. See I’m trapped in a world where everything’s a fight to survive. Trapped not knowing where to look left or right seeing if it’s going to be my last night. Trapped, seeing the jails fill to capacity cause of the tragedies people were dealt in life. I’m still trapped in a world where people are still color blind, not accepting the difference between black and white. Forgetting that people like Dr. King lost their life trying to break down that color line so people like you and me can have equal rights to thrive and survive. Even though that color line was torn down they left a thin line….My people we are victimized by the men and women disguised in black and white. Trapped where people are in poverty. No food, no water, and no property. Forced on the streets digging in garbage cans hoping to catch a break and find some food someone hadn’t ate. Trapped in a world we take for granted the things we have with a selfish taste in our mouths. While people in Africa only wish they could have. Trapped with the weight of the world on my shoulders, wanting the pain to go away. Trapped in a place where these wars are running rapid and bombs still detonating . I am trapped on this place called earth.
