Trapped on an Island

Trapped on an island how did I get here?

There is nothing here but the trees and sand,

nothing for miles in this desolate land.

I went on a cruise what a fun little trip,

but now I sit here without food or a ship.

Trapped on an island how did I get here?

My belongings are lost in the turbulant sea,

no other souls around except little lost me.

I once was surrounded by comforts a plenty,

now nothing but the trees rocking ever so gently.

Trapped on an island how did I get here?

The storm came out of nowhere to our great surprise,

to remember the devestation and my certain demise.

I lay here quite spent thinking ever so strongly,

not of the bad things or whoever has wronged me.

Trapped on an island how did I get here?

The day started out great with a breakfast buffet,

but around noon the sky turned an ominous grey.

The storm was the biggest I could have ever imagined,

the boat collapsed on itself like a sinking accordion.

Trapped on an island how did I get here?

Now I think about food and something cold to drink,

A large hamburger, or pizza, or a large sausage link.

I have no hope of survival in this blistering heat,

the sun is cooking me gently like a large slab of beef.

Trapped on an island how did I get here?

I am thinking about what is truly dear to my heart,

a computer, a flask, a phone, for sure not a shark!

I know without doubt what I hold most dear,

I can't live without my loving family here.
