Trapped In My Mind
Running.
Keep running.
I can't stop.
Can't slow down.
The darkness,
it’s closing in around me.
Suffocating.
Drowning.
My breathing heavy.
Deep breaths.
In, out,
in, out.
I look around,
just a sweeping glance.
Frozen.
My breath speeds up.
Faster,
faster.
I yell,
I shout,
I scream.
It doesn't matter.
No one’s here.
No one to hear.
No one can hear me.
I don't stop though,
I can't.
Stopping means, quitting.
Quitting means ending.
I don't want to end.
I can't.
Not for those who know me.
Who need me.
Even if they can't see me.
I stuck, trapped.
In this world.
This dimension.
This universe.
I'm drowning,
in this world-pool,
called life.
Coughing.
Choking.
Crying for help
that will never come.
Never answer.
In this dark pathway.
No, not path.
Cage.
I'm in a cage
with the door open.
Wide open.
Sitting there.
I can see it barely.
There's no light,
but I see them all.
The bars.
They’re everywhere.
The doors made of them,
but it’s wide open.
I’m trapped here.
In this cage.
With the door wide open.
And I can't leave.
I run,
but I’m frozen.
Stuck in place.
Stuck in this dark nightmare.
I'm drowning,
while around me
others breath fine.
Why?
Why am I here???
Stuck here.
Forever trapped.
While others get to breath freely.
Live, really live.
With-out being held in this cage.
This black, bleak,
lonely, sad,
dark infested cage.
This put-me-down,
drag-me-under,
tape my mouth,
freeze my feet,
dark abyss of a cage.
My cage.
The cage that is slowly consuming everything that's happy,
that’s me.
The cage I'm drowning in.
Taking in water breath after breath.
With no one to see me.
Noone to hear me.
For all of it's happening
Happening inside.
Because I'm trapped.
I'm trapped within my mind.
