Trapped in a Nightmare but freed by music
In this room filled with blue windows
with the room black as night and blue floors and grey steel doors,
Cops standing tall with bald heads
Looking like Judge Dredd with black frames
Red and blue nurses cover you with white bed sheets
Cocoon woven bathrooms
Filled with clear water and grey floors leave me
Trapped in a nightmare,
Knives piercing through the heart
Arrows coated with poison
Strike like shooting darts but where do we start
Reliving visions,
Crying because you see yourself and you hate this image
Running down
The green streets of 91st and WentWorth spitting verses
Looking back now and you on a trip to do community service in San Francisco
Good deeds were done but the nightmare still persists
You are trapped in the hood
In the hospital
On 75th and Stony Jackson Park feels like being trapped
On an island where healing from the wounds and battle scars
Almost went crazy locked in the room
Hallucinations lead to miscommunications
Tryna break free but the fear keeps you in hibernation
Now you are talking to yourself
Asking for answers and begging for help
Weeks go by and you come back to reality
But you are not yourself
On a plane
You are scared to fall
And afraid you’re not going home
Everybody tells you
You’ll be okay and Jesus is your friend
Graduate from college but you still feel trapped
In the psych chair talking to doctors and taking medicine got you pumped up
Your family is scared because you are bugging out
But you are still searching for yourself
The mind has become an abandoned house
To get help you
Seek God but you still feel lost
The gears are moving and lights are flashing
Is anybody home?
Paranoid to be alone
With your thoughts
March is the mark where all the pieces fell apart
You began to put the pieces back
Together but still feel like you’re torn apart
Trade wounds for scars because you are sleeping in a fantasy
Even nightmares have dreams that end and fall apart
Always remember each day
Is a fresh start where you can breathe
A sigh of relief and keep it on beat
Because a degree in music is what I seek
Music saved my life
As I was going through the dark dungeon of life
Sitting here with this pen and pad the lines on the page start to go mad
As I listen to the tunes the world starts to move
Lyrics steady dancing while word play slowly romancing with each breath I inhale a new a flow like a dragon my fire outta control every time I touch the mic the music inhales my soul.
