Trapped Soul

A free bird wanting to be caged to suffocate all her emotions.

To be under construction and never be rebuilt,

to let her body escape from her fears

and find out what it’s like to be real.

For her to not stand in her own shadow to show

true colors that been locked and pushed away.

Her heart crumbles in matters of minutes,

she has very little confidence that gives her no hope.

The sun is rising while the moon is setting,

she starts to sprout and blossom,

into something unforgettable.

A free bird wanting to be caged to find herself.

Now has the attention of others

for who she truly is.

                                                                                                                    -Kourtni McDaniel
