To travel is to live

Hans Christian Andersen said

"To travel is to live"

and it's all I've ever wanted

since I was a kid

I could never stay still

I always needed to run

to go everywhere a 9-year-old could

underneath the sun

Now that I'm older

I finally get to see

oceans and monuments

and nature's beauty

I can take the unmarked path

and the road less traveled

explore a dense forest

or an old forgotten castle

I can't be tied down

to a job and its burdens

I will travel and be free

 Oh I'm so determined

I want to go adventuring

and I want to see the earth

I want to see all of its wonders

all of its treasures and all of its worth

The one thing that I couldn't

be able to live without

is the ability to travel

or to wander about

I find myself in the words

that Tolkien embossed

that say "Not all that is gold glitters,

and not all those who wander are lost."
