Treasure Chest of Memories

I wonder if he ever thinks of me, there in his perfect house with his perfect wife, perfect life? Does he take her to our favorite spot walk along mirror lake, stopping for a kiss as we once did?

It should have been me he married, but I’m not cut out to live in a perfect world…I think of him now and then still with tears left to shed, yet knowing I made the right decision

But I can’t help to wonder if I could, would I go back in time, to be with him? I tell myself it’s too late for that now, I chose a different path, with no regrets

I wish him the best with love and tenderness. I pray he’s happy in his lovely perfect love nest, he’ll always be tucked away, within my treasure chest of memories, buried beneath, my hopes and dreams
