Treasure Map

Walking along the shore, the sand sticks to my feet.

But then the waves come to greet my feet

And wash the particles into the ocean.

The waves come and go. I can’t control their motion.

My thoughts mimic the waves that lap the shore.

Then something catches my eye; it’s laying on the floor.

I pick the shell up, and, much to my surprise,

I discover it’s really a treasure map in disguise.

On the back was a code of numbers for a book.

I decided to give it a shot and look

It up. It lead me to the greatest treasure

That is beyond any measure.

And because I’m in a generous mood,

I’ll share my treasure with you.

Romans 10:9-10:

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

This treasure got me thinking-

I’m so glad He saves me from sinking

In my sin, that even though I’m not worthy,

His eternal waves of mercy

Wash away my particles of sin

Over and over and over again.
