Am I more like the lone tree of the Prairie?

Of the Savanna?

Tall, tanned with a puff on top.

No one sees my roots.

Are they are lost?

Unseen, un-kept?

Words don’t define me,

They haunt me.

All Things escape me.

They leave me.

Am I here?

Men appear.

Are they my saviors?

To take me from this place?

They chop me.

Break me in my lonely beauty.

I have grown,

I am still unknown.

Again Forsaken.

You have taken,

Much from me.

Where are my Trees,

Buzzing with their happy bees?

Bustling thriving?

I do not know.

I cannot see.

Who am I?

I am solely the Lonely Tree.
