The Tree

He was like that big ol tree,

Branches were long and wide to hold me.

Absolute comfort and safe from the world,

No matter how much shit life hurled

There was no safer place,

Nowhere in all of space.

To call a tree home is weird to some,

But when I’m with him, I don’t feel so numb.
