Tree House Dream

A tree house dream

with black and white morning cartoons

a cup of milk and a downy Comforter

to keep my waist warm and feet cold

in the middle of December

I think of mirrors and wall flowers

blooming in your dreams

a smile at the seams and two beady eyes

twinkling beside your heart

as the sunshine touches deep inside

the fortress,

barred windows and empty cold

the draft can't reach the clam of your palms;

nothing touches that

only love

lights a spark that lights a spark

when the entire world is felt

and ignites

a different kind of flame

where smog and ash keep

things like tree house dreams alive
