Tree's Lost in Translation

I can’t say that I’m lonely,

There are many more like me in this home.

Instead, I would say that I am lost,

That all others are meant to be here and I am misplaced.

I am the dark outcast.

I am that dangerous word…different.

The leaves of Loebner the Magnolia,

They allow her to sing loud and true.

Then there are the leaves of the cyprus,

They chant an almost silent tune.

I wish I could explain my language,

But to one speaking words you wouldn’t understand.

I’m not a part of mankind,

And in my natural world I am overlooked.

The two-legged ones give me attention,

But only to carve my back and cut my skin.

Maybe somewhere there are limbs with solemn voices like mine.
