Tribute

it wasn’t my choice

i want everyone to know

i didn’t want to do this

but They grabbed me

They threatened me

They told me

my family would suffer

i had to protect them

so i let Them get me ready

there were children

so innocent

but i have innocent children too

why should i sacrifice them

for these kids

it wasn’t fair to those kids

but it wasn’t fair to me

i wasn’t ready for the explosion

but it came and my world was torn

apart faster than the beat of

a hummingbird’s wings

i held onto this world

for just a moment

to watch the devastation

mothers scrambling for their children

brothers crying for sisters

praise the day They finally

come face to face with Allah.
