Tribute to a Woman's Resilience

I’m to blame because I gave away my power, All of it The attributes that made me a woman, I swallowed them Like an eeriely uninvited memory I followed him Straight to my death He whispered to me with icy-vicious insolent words But a tender blues melody is all I heard. He caressed me with unyielding palms But in my eyes he could do no wrong. My senses were failing and my heart depleted But I continued to serve him all that he needed His bidding was the murder of all that i am , he succeeded For a time Eventually my corpse moved and my eyes fluttered open, I rose out of my grave I walked out the cemetery with a purpose Thirsty to get back all that I gave I saw him with his usual band of merry women So I gave chase. Quickly my feet stuttered to a stop I had an epiphany My power returned with the beauty of A moonlight symphony I gained my senses, love, and the ability of sympathy For myself Now, I can comprehend the hand that was dealt If he’s breaking you down with malicious intent Or vile temptations Incessantly belting out sorry like a member Of the Temptations Whether abuse or sleeping with women from any background And every nation Leave him behind with no hostility, and love him, As a parallel creation Soon serenity will meet you but only with A little patience
