Trickle
I want to run my fingers all along your body
Trickle down your arms like the drizzle of small rain drops that kiss your skin
I want to be held by you and all your innocent profanities
Your auburn eyes capture me and it's like
Finding a place of rapture
You say all the things I least expect you to say
I think about you at least 57 times a day
May our love story resemble that of the earth and sky
I will send you kisses in raindrops and fill every gutter of every home
Until you are flooded with too much of me
May the evaporation take away your pain and lonliness
May the universe gift us with just enough of eachother
Meeting you was like a mystery
Someone must have spilled the ink while writing my story
Then rain flooded the black puddle and made it a little more clear
Now the vocabulary is nothing but a rushing stream across the wooden table in the family room
And it slowly drips onto the carpet
Leaving a stain to remember us by
And when the grandkids ask the author where it came from
He will say that it was from a place of beauty and trust
That is why they will never try to remove us
You cleared my blurred vision and now I can see
I'm strong enough alone but with you I can be stronger
I'm hungry for your past and famished for your future
I wish I could give you the sky and the rise of Venus
In return you could give me
Adventures and smiles and time
