Tristesse

I turned to leave forever,

For my time to go was nigh.

Our eyes met one last time together

As we both muttered goodbye.

And yet...

All the words I wished to say

Were all said with your eyes.

Only eyes could ever betray

Love lost to sad goodbyes.
