Triumph for the Champion

Welcome friends to hear my awesome story.

My tale begins on a day many years ago

At the dawn of a beautiful morning.

The destination was Kearney Catholic.

My inspiration was my past success

And my older sister there to guide me.

Taekwondo tournaments are a great time

To make friends and to compete against them.

When we divided into our small groups

Mine had two boys, both of them were black belts.

The competition started really good,

With all good scores on form I got first place.

Next came what I excel at, free sparring

I called on Athena for my battle

Strategy and I stepped into the ring.

The first match I was so good that we had

To stop so my opponent could breath.

I defeated him very easily.

The next match my instructor came over.

He had heard how good I did and wanted

To watch my next match for first place.

It was a match well fought, with me quickly

Earning my five points with quick sneaky shots.

My instructor was very proud of me.

The best part was seeing the two boys cry.

They were the sons of parent instructors.

Melissa, Little sister, even Mel,

Stands before you today with souvenirs

That show my triumph that challenging day.

My favorite part was reliving this day of enjoying Taekwondo at its best.
