The Trois of Moi

Welcome to the trinity of Irene
Me is what everyone sees
So look at me and perceive
Glasses, orange hair
A face full of makeup at first glance
Look a bit deeper, perhaps.
Take in the words I say,
Drink in the words I play.
Myself is next in the three of me
My essence is myself most purely,
My motivations most truly
Beneath the carrot top, a need to be bold
A burning flame to tell the world that I demand to be seen
An attempt to force everyone to see my peacock colors
And my makeup? Just more war paint
Streaked on.
And the last of my triumvirate. I.
I is my actions.
I is audaciously saying that I don't agree.
I is standing tall and refusing to let anyone make me shrink.
I is valiantly putting my head down and pushing through
I is baring my teeth down into the lion's jaws trying to eat me alive
And I? I is bold enough to say that I am.
