True Beauty

Why do you have to be so perfect?

Why can’t I have your shape of eyes or lips?

Your slim lined waist with your large breasts,

And your long smooth legs.

Why do you have to be so perfect?

I craved all the attention because of you,

I wanted to feel loved and appreciated like you,

I longed to be wanted and happy as you are.

Why do you have to be so perfect?

To be used as an ideal figure today,

To be described as the perfect woman,

To be a skinny woman that men long for.

Why do you have to be perfect?

Yet they call your beauty fake,

Along with your hair and nails and lips,

Your breasts and eyes and legs.

Why do you have to be perfect?

Perfect on the outside but ugly in the inside,

That beauty is only to be seen in the inside,

No matter what people say.

Why do you have to perfect?

When God created everyone in his own image,

Then we are wonderfully and carefully made,

And we are his own masterpiece.

Why do you have to perfect?

Though I would never change to be you,

I would be confident in my own appearance

And remember that no one is a prisoner of society depiction.

And this is what true beauty should be.
