To A True Friend

Dear Skuldrake,

It is like you said a long time ago.

I am just walking into the hole once more.

I should have listened to you.

You were always my better half

I turned a blind eye towards you.

I forgot you.

This girl…

I shouldn’t have known and I should have acted better.

She was the sun that blinded me day after day.

A light so bright that no shadow could exist.

I left you to die…

And yet… you kept coming back to help me.

You were always there to support me when I needed the help. Why?

Is it because I made you?

Is it because I wanted you to help me?

Were you the piece I was missing so long ago… You are like a light at the end of the tunnel.

I don’t say this often but sometimes it feels like you are my only true friend.

While it is true I have others, I always come back to you.

Maybe it is because you don’t see me as a burden or an object.

You see me as a struggler.

Trying to make every right move but fail at every step.

Why can’t I have more friends like you?

You are me, a better me perhaps.

I wish I could be cold hearted like you sometimes.

However, I know you would yell at me because you have nothing and lost everything.

I couldn’t imagine that…

If only my darkness was as incandescent.

Life made you into who you are

That girl… taught me many things.

Life is a struggle.

The world never revolved around me.

“I am no one important,” you would always say.

You are important.

A string keeping me from falling...

Thanks… Bro

Sincerely,

A friend
