True Friends

She stands there listening

Hoping to reach out for their trust

As she reaches further deep

The revealing truth causes her to weep

The lies under the their skins

The pity they embrace

The fake smiles they place

Her whole world was soon to be displace

She felt lonely deep within

Crying and praying every night to God

Wishing someone would reach out

Being with her always throughout

She waits and waits

For that one group to descends

Then one day maybe she'll know

The true meaning of friends
