True Happiness
My view of happiness has never changed. What has changed is the pressure that we put on ourselves to get it. More often than not, we think up scenarios in our minds that never happened and probably wont happen, but we insist that they will. Is it other people that don't believe in love anymore, or is it ourselves breaking our own hearts? Today I went downtown and looked out across the San Diego skyline and though about the two kinds of people in this world. By this I don't mean the type of people who dip their French fries in their milkshakes or the people who eat a slice of pizza with their hands against the people who eat it with a fork and knife. I am talking about the people who do or do not believe in this so called magic. Those who do, don't worry about the future and take every moment leading up to the future as a blessing and a lesson. Those who don't, well, they miss out. They settle for people who don't truly make them happy and live in fear. If they realize it, it's usually too late and before they know it, they're trapped in a state of unhappiness and responsibilities that they never really wanted. They just want to live up to what society has made happiness appear to be. Do we just settle for the giraffe when the lion never comes?
