True Love

To think that true love exists, My friend, you are a fool. You need to learn this lesson now Because life is all too cruel. You want true love to find you, This idea you want to believe. I’ll be the only one to tell you the truth My friend, you have been deceived. True love is but a childish fantasy, You’ll find there is no such thing. It is only a foolish idea, Yet one you seem to cling. I am going to make you understand, If it is the last thing I do. I will save you much heartache, you will find This to be true. Take it from someone who knows, True love is but a myth. If you learn it now, you won’t be disappointed When you find true love just doesn’t exist. You may one day meet a man, And he will promise you the world. But it will crush your spirit when The truth starts to unfurl. He won’t give you the world, but He will give you pain. He will be long gone when It slowly drives you insane. True love just isn’t out there. This, a fact I know. You see, in the end We will all die alone. You need to understand that The advice I am trying to impart, Well, it is for your own good That you will never suffer a broken heart. I hope that you have listened To all that I have said. To understand true love doesn’t exist So a tear will never be shed.
