A True Love Story

You loved me before you knew me

You fell in love with me the second you met me

You knew me before I knew myself

You loved me before I can explain what love is

Although I may not have known what lied ahead

I loved you back with everything I had

Even closer we were after years have passed

I trusted you, you trusted me

You were my best friend, I knew nothing could go bad

But we had different ideas of what our lives would be

You were always gone, never home, never with me

We argued and fought, cried and screamed

you moved away and didn't think twice about me

I still loved you because you were what love meant to me

More years have passed and it was never the same

Our relationship was irresistible, now it was a broken chain

I knew you would always love me, we were the same

The love we have for each other could never detain

A summer ago, I found you again

We cried, we laughed, and our love is still strong

This relationship isn't perfect

But who could teach me that loves lasts forever

better than my mom
