True Sight

With wearied eyes now shut tight I am no longer blinded by sight Be still, and let my worries freeze I feel God's presence in the breeze A lonely bird calls out to me As if to ask, "What do you see?" Without my eyes to teach the facts I do not know how nature acts With opinions untainted by color or light I am free to understand without plight I cannot see sun, moon, or star but my faith in their presence, lack of sight cannot mar Light can be felt as well as it can be seen I must feel the winds to know what they mean All becomes clear without physical view When the spirit is impeded, revelations become few Eyes can teach nothing save shape and form In the darkness, a new vision is born There is a time to abandon skills And seek only to feel all thrills
